After a well deserved summer break, September signals the start of autumn in Bucks County - an exciting time of colors and competitions with a renewed energy for studios and galleries alike.

 Saturday, August 28 finds Jim painting outdoors in Stockton NJ via an invitation through New Hope Arts, joining others i n a self guided tour for a meet and greet. Jim's been working plein aire more and more, setting up with with his long term" best painting buddy" Trish Vergis, who by the way, moved recently into her new teaching studio in Lambertville NJ alongside Robert Beck, heading up much sought after life classes.  First Friday in Doylestown will bring together the artists at Chapman gallery, so stop by and catch up at September's group show- always a great time.

Richland"s Quaker Meeting House is celebrating their 300th anniversary on September 18 from 1 till 5pm. Jim's painting of their big oak tree is included in the art sale there, and his studio will be open afterward, so stop by if you're in the area. 

September is also a call for artists to vie for a coveted spot in the annual Phillip's Mill exhibition, a competition that gets artists to put their best foot forward. Jim was included in a recent past show, with his work not only winning a ribbon but also selling, so he'll always have that under his belt. Good luck to all the new, brave souls this year !

October brings the first annual Pumpking Ball, a black tie affair held at the amazing Steve Tobin Studio benefitting Quakertown Arts Alive. Jim's painting " The Pumpkin Patch" will be auctioned off that evening, and the image is featured on the Sept. cover of the Herald's Area Guide Book

November 6 and 7 will find Jim on the 3rd annual Upper Bucks Studio tour, so if you've never been by it's worth the ride over- his home events are always a treat.

Jim's getting together an idea for a late winter show with partner Steve called " My Image To Art" - where you e-mail an image to be turned into a painting by Jim, if you're chosen- with a couple of twists and turns thown in- click on the link to join in what looks like a fun, new concept !

In addition to seeing Jim's larger pieces at Village Art Gallery in Peddler's Village, he now has smaller works available in an intimate setting upstairs at Bucks County Antiques in Lahaska's Antique Court
